  • US Space Force establishes new garrisons

    PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – The U.S. Space Force activated two garrisons during a pre-recorded virtual ceremony today. During the ceremony, the Peterson-Schriever Garrison and Buckley Garrison installation support commands stood-up as the 21st, 50th, and 460th Space Wings were deactivated.

    The 21st Space Wing issued guidance in April 2020 mandating the wear of face coverings or masks for all individuals on Peterson Air Force Base and Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station when unable to maintain six feet of physical distance in public areas and work centers.   • USAF reservists, Army Soldiers team up to improve deployment operations

    When Air Force reservists deploy it’s often alongside other military branches with similar missions. Challenges come into play because the processes and equipment are rarely the same. To tackle this issue, nearly 100 Soldiers from the Army’s 59th Quartermaster and 247th Composite Supply Companies out of Fort Carson came to the Reserve wing here to learn Air Force ground refueling processes from the 302nd Logistics Readiness Squadron’s fuels department earlier this month.
