AF Reservists enjoy evening out with Colorado Springs-based 'Sky Sox'
Col. James Van Housen (foreground, right), together with five Air Force Reserve and one Active Duty Maintenance Airmen, wave to a crowd July 10 after the Airmen were re-enlisted by the colonel at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs, Colo. The AF Reserve Airmen, assigned to the 302nd Maintenance Group, as well as the Active Duty Airman from the 52nd Airlift Squadron, are based at nearby Peterson Air Force Base. Members of the 302nd MXG, a subordinate organization to the AF Reserve's 302nd Airlift Wing, worked with the city's Sky Sox minor league baseball team to re-enlist the six Airmen in front of an estimated 3,000-person crowd. Later that evening, Airman 1st Class Tyler Higgins from the 52nd AS threw out the first pitch against the visiting Reno Aces during the night's doubleheader.
