Clay Williams, Modular Airborne Firefighting Systems specialist, and Staff Sgt. Richard Walder with the 146th Aerial Port Squadron connect the fire retardant loading hose to the MAFFS on a C-130 aircraft supporting the 302nd MAFFS fire retardant reload operations at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station. The 302nd AEG, comprising aircraft from the Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Navy and Marine Corps, provides unique capabilities and is part of a unified military support effort of U.S. Northern Command to provide assistance to the U.S. Forest Service, CAL FIRE, and the National Interagency Fire Center.
