Wisconsin air show visitors check out 'MAFFS II'

A 731st Airlift Squadron flight engineer answers questions from spectators July 29 about the Modular Airborne Firefighting System, or 'MAFFS II,' at the 2009 Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture air show in Oshkosh, Wis. The 731st AS, assigned to the Air Force Reserve's 302nd Airlift Wing, participated in this year's air show by demonstrating the new MAFFS II capabilities on July 27 with a live air drop. The air show is known as the world's greatest aviation celebration and attracts hundreds of thousands of aviation enthusiasts from all over the world. The C-130, assigned to the 302nd AW at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., is equipped with the new MAFFS II system and is on display at EAA AirVenture through July 29. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt.
