Wing's 2015 award winners named

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo.—The 302nd Airlift Wing 2015 Annual Award winners were announced on March 5, 2016, at the Reserve Wing’s annual awards banquet. The awards program recognizes the 302nd AW’s top Airmen in six different categories during the March Unit Training Assembly event.

 

The 2015 winners are:

 

*             Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Dava MacDonald, 302nd Airlift Wing Command Post

*             Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Raymond Shaw, 302nd Communications Flight

*             Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Eric Cross, 731st Airlift Squadron

*             First Sergeant of the Year: Master Sgt. Cortney Shank, 302nd Aeromedical Staging Squadron

*             Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. Ashley Parker, 302nd Operations Support Squadron

*             Field Grade Officer of the Year: Lt. Col. Nathan Day, 302nd Airlift Wing Command Post

 

The award packages were scored by the award’s board amongst their peers’ nominations and each Airman was evaluated on his or her leadership, job performance, significant self-improvement and contributions to both their on and off-base communities.

 

The 302nd Airlift Wing, one of nine Air Force Reserve C-130 wings with an airdrop and airlift mission located throughout the nation and the only Air Force Reserve C-130 wing assigned the special Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) mission, is one of the largest tenant organizations at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Approximately 1,300 Reserve Airmen are assigned, of which roughly 200 are full-time, dual status federal civil service/Air Force Reserve employees as Air Reserve Technicians.
