PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. --
Air Force Reserve Lt. Col. Jennifer Cummings assumed command of the 302nd Maintenance Group from Col. James Van Housen during a change of command ceremony July 14 here.
Cummings was previously the group's deputy commander.
"For the members of the 302nd MXG, my expectations of you are simple: Continue to maintain the highest levels of discipline and integrity in every facet of your job from fixing our planes to training our next level of leaders," said Cummings. "Most importantly, keep your focus on safety and doing everything possible to take care of our people."
Since Van Housen assumed command in December 2009, the 302nd MXG has generated 18 "black letter" aircraft, meaning a C-130 is given zero discrepancies during inspection.
"What could be better than working with these impeccably maintained, impressive fleet of C-130's we got here," touted Van Housen.
During his command, Van Housen effectively integrated 108 active duty members into the group, setting a high standard for Total Force Integration. "Being assigned to the 302nd MXG was a dream come true for me and my family," said Van Housen. He will be taking his TFI expertise to Fort Worth, Texas where he will take command of the 301st Maintenance Group.
Col. Jay Pittman, 302nd AW commander, was the presiding officer for the ceremony.
