Senior Airman Phillip Pollok, 302nd Security Forces Squadron is greeted by his wife Heather upon his return to the Colorado Springs airport June 16, 2014 after his 120-day deployment to Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. While in Kyrgyzstan, Pollok and the deployed 302 SFS reservists provided for the location’s integrated base defense, physical security and antiterrorism and force protection measures on behalf of U.S. and allied personnel based there. They also provided support for the inactivation and overall Transit Center at Manas closure in early June. For more than 12 years the American military has operated out of this location, serving as the premier transportation and logistics hub supporting operations in Afghanistan. The transit center-based wing performed four critical missions to include air refueling, onward movement, airlift and humanitarian assistance. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ann Skarban)
