Peterson SFB Reserve Airman pronounced dead after Castle Rock motorcycle crash

A Reserve Citizen Airman stationed at Peterson Space Force Base was pronounced dead after a motorcycle and single vehicle crash in Castle Rock over the weekend.

At approximately 5:26 p.m. MDT on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, emergency crews from the Castle Rock Police Department responded to the intersection of South Perry and Plum Creek Blvd in Castle Rock with reports of a motorcycle crash involving Tech. Sgt. Andrew "Andy" M. Peeples, 29, assigned to the 731st Airlift Squadron of the 302nd Airlift Wing. The incident and identity of the member were reported to the Colorado Springs Regional Command Post, located on Peterson SFB, by the member's family.

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of the 302nd Airlift Wing’s team members,” said Col. Christopher Sedlacek, 302 AW commander. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Andrew’s family, fiancĂ©e, and friends during this time. Andrew was a beloved member of our team who positively influenced many during his time serving in units across the wing. We encourage all Airmen to support one another, and we are committed to providing resources to help Andrew’s family and our Airmen navigate this challenging period.”
