The 302nd Airlift Wing is changing the way it communicates. The Public Affairs staff will now utilize the public website as the primary medium for publicizing 302nd events and activities. As a result, the Front Range Flyer will become a quarterly publication beginning with this issue.

Changing the focus from a monthly publication to quarterly is in line with the Air Force's preference for use of public web sites as the primary means for disseminating information. Escalating printing and distribution costs, widespread use of the Internet, and the ability of Reservists and their families to read news about the 302nd from their homes were just a few of the factors which lead to this change.

While many members may favor the traditional hard copy version of the Front Range Flyer, the reality is that the printed newspaper was not looking so "newsy" anymore. Most of the events covered in a typical paper occur weeks before the paper actually hits the streets. With the public web site, stories and photos can be posted minutes after they occur.

Please spend some time getting familiar with the 302nd's corner of the Internet. Simply go to www.302aw.afrc.af.mil. You can find information on our mission, photos of the C-130 aircraft based here, and in-depth coverage of the people who work behind the scenes to make it all happen.

Over time, the Public Affairs staff will amass more content on the contributions of our Citizen Airmen to the nation's defense. If you haven't visited the site yet, I invite you to check it out. You may be surprised at what you find.
