Air Force Reserve Security Forces deploy

Approximately 80 Security Forces Reservists from three Colorado Air Force Reserve units departed Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Sunday, July 27. Security Forces Reservists from the 302nd Airlift Wing, Peterson AFB, Colo., and the 310th Space Wing, Schriever and Buckley AFBs, Colo. will support U.S. Central Command in the Middle East.

This security forces team has been activated since June 23 and recently completed specialized training at their home stations as well as Patriot Defender at Camp Gruber, Okla. The Reservists are expected to return from this Operation IRAQI FREEDOM deployment in winter, 2009.

The mission of the Security Forces Squadron is to provide trained security forces personnel and security forces command and control elements to support integrated base defense, physical security, law enforcement, resource protection and antiterrorism/force protection for allied personnel and resources globally.
