Best in the Air Reserve Component for 2008
Staff Sgt. Anthony Zeppetella, seen here instructing C-130 Hercules aircrew members on the use of the tactical flight helmet, was recently recognized as the 2008 Outstanding Aircrew Flight Equipment Air Reserve Component Airman of the Year. Recognized for his work while a senior airman, Sergeant Zeppetella provided 24-hour coverage for aircrews supporting the 2008 wildland aerial firefighting activities in California. He also played a key role in the 302nd Airlift Wing's Operational Readiness Inspection. Furthermore, after configuring C-130 aircraft for more than 30 Joint Airborne Air Transportability Training and Tactical Airlift Control Center missions, Sergeant Zeppetella had zero discrepancies, increasing the positive mission rate.
