302 AW MAFFS departure to Oregon 2025

A team of 731st Airlift Squadron Airmen conduct a test fire of the Modular Airborne Firefighting System installed on a C-130H Hercules aircraft at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, July 22, 2025. A MAFFS unit can expel 3,000 gallons of fire retardant in less than five seconds to coat an area one-quarter of a mile long and 100 feet wide. The system can be refilled in less than 12 minutes.
