MAFFS C-130 follows lead plane during annual aerial firefighting training
Aircrew aboard an aerial firefighting C-130 follows behind a lead plane during their annual aerial wildland firefighting training and certification with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, May 13, 2021, Pike-San Isabel National Forest, Colorado. The aircraft is equipped with a U.S. Forest Service Modular Airborne Firefighting System unit used to drop fire retardant to aid in fire suppression efforts, but require a lead plane to mark drop locations prior to discharging the retardant.
