Colorado Springs reservists grant a wish during pandemic
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- 5-year-old Wilder Umbarger and his family receive a salute from 302nd Airlift Wing reservists and Peterson AFB Secruity Forces members July 30, 2020. Lt. Col. Ryan Brader, 731st Airlift Squadron commander, led the family through a C-130 Hercules aircraft, knowing Wilder’s wish was to see an aircraft up close and meet a pilot. As Wilder struggles with a terminal illness, X-Linked Adrenoleukodystrophy, his wish was granted through the Make-a-Wish Foundation, who sponsored the Umbarger family to visit the Colorado Springs area from Broomfield, Colo.
