Berry new 731st commander

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Members of the 731st Airlift Squadron welcomed a new commander during a ceremony June 6, 2015 here. Lt. Col. Greg Berry, C-130 navigator, took charge of the Air Force Reserve Command’s 731st AS from Col. Chris Clay. Berry joined the 731st AS in 2005 and has served as an instructor, flight commander, chief of tactics, director of operations, and acting deputy group Commander before on his way to becoming the squadron commander. “With his achievements, he is out there in the front,” said Col. Robert Stanton, the 302nd Operations Group Commander. “I think this is what this unit needs for the future. It needs someone who’s willing to step into the hot-seat when it’s hot.” “I’m walking into the perfect situation,” said Berry. “We have excellent leadership across the board and we are blessed to have all the people we have working with us. I love our country, I love our Air Force, I love our airplanes and I love our unit, said Berry. “This is a dream come true.” The 731st AS is the flying squadron of the Air Force Reserve Command’s 302nd Airlift Wing. The mission of the 302nd AW is to provide superior global reach. The primary operational mission of the 302nd AW is tactical airlift and airdrop. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Kel Rapisora)
