PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Students participating in the Peterson AFB STARBASE program wave from the back of a C-130 aircraft to a taxiing C-130 on the runway here Feb. 25, 2015. More than 20 students spent the afternoon with the Air Force Reserve Command’s 302nd Airlift Wing Airmen to learn about their missions and to tour a C-130 aircraft. According to their official website, “STARBASE students participate in challenging ‘hands-on, mind-on’ activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. They interact with military personnel to explore careers and observe STEM applications in the real world. The program provides students with 25 hours of experiences at bases across the nation.” (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Daniel Butterfield)
