Reserve C-130s launch day four of firefighting operations
Staff Sgt. Josh Crooks, an Air Force reservist with the 302nd Airlift Wing, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., washes down the ramp of a C-130H prior to a firefighting mission June 29 at McClelland Airfield in Sacramento, Calif. Sergeant Crooks and three 302nd AW aircraft and crews are assigned to the 302nd Air Expeditionary Group fighting the Corral and Piute wildfires fires near the California capital. As of 2:30 p.m. June 29, aircrews launched eight missions against the fires, dropping 24,000 gallons of fire retardant.
