NSSI activation

PETERSON AFB, Colo. (AFRC) -- Col. Susan Rhodes, Headquarters Reserve National Security Space Institute commandant, addresses attendees at the Reserve NSSI activation and her assumption of command Feb. 10 as Lt. Gen. John A. Bradley, Chief of Air Force Reserve and Commander, Air Force Reserve Command looks on. The RNSSI is the 10th unit to join the 310th Space Group since the group began with the 7th Space Operations Squadron in March 1993. We will be your Space Warriors, Colonel Rhodes said to General Bradley as she presented him the coin from the first Reserve unit in the space program, the 7th SOPS. We [RNSSI] are the success story of the nine Reserve units in space today, said Colonel Rhodes, an alumnus of the 7th SOPS since its initial activation. The NSSI is the Department of Defenses focal point for educating space power applications in joint war-fighting. (U.S. Air Force photo by Alexander Groves, 50th Space Wing)
