Congressional staffers see AF Reserve up close
Lt. Col. David Condit, 302nd Airlift Wing chief of safety and Modular Airborne Firefighting Systems coordinator for the Air Force Reserve, talks about the 'MAFFS II' system to Congressional staffers August 27 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. The staffers, from Colorado, California and Delaware, visited the 302nd AW after receiving a 'From The Field' brief in early August on the AF Reserve's civil support mission of aerial firefighting, located exclusively at Peterson. The staffers also received a local orientation flight through the Rocky Mountains, giving them a better understanding of the capabilities of the C-130 Hercules tactical transport aircraft.
