Getting back to work

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Staff Sgt. Scott Gordon, 731st Airlift Squadron loadmaster, studies his Air Force instruction en route to Joint Airborne/Air Transportability Training at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash., Aug. 11. Sergeant Gordon is recertifying on the JA/AAT missions after being grounded for several months due to a shoulder injury he suffered while deployed to Southwest Asia in support of U.S. Central Command operations. The benefits of flying JA/AAT missions are two-fold, allowing aircrews an opportunity to hone their aircrew currency skills while providing members of other services a chance to meet training requirements for high altitude, low opening and static line parachute jumps.
