Thailand MAFFS takes to the air

Modular Airborne Firefighting System tubes are pulled inside a Royal Thai Air Force C-130 after take off from Phitsanulok Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, as the crew demonstrates MAFFS proficiency during training. The tubes are pulled up while the aircraft is in transit to the simulated fire location. Members of the RTAF are certifying their proficiency on the MAFFS missions with assistance from the Air Force Reserve’s 302nd Airlift Wing based at Peterson AFB, Colo. Seven 302 AW members traveled to Thailand to provide expert training on safe and effective MAFFS operations. This event marks the first time the Air Force Reserve has sent delegates to train a foreign Air Force on use of the MAFFS equipment. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt. Jody L. Ritchie)
