Airborne Soldiers get ride to Haiti
Airman 1st Class Nathan Weiland, an Active Duty cargo rigger with the 3rd Aerial Port Squadron, tightens down the final chain to secure an Army HUMVEE to a C-130 Hercules Jan. 27 at Pope Air Force Base, N.C. The HUMVEE and more than 10 Soldiers assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division we transported by the Minnesota Air National Guard's 133rd Airlift Wing to Haiti where they wer expected to fulfill several missions in support of earthquake relief operations, including airport security in the capital city of Port-au-Prince. Both the C-130 and its aircrew are deployed to Muniz Air Base, Puerto Rico, in support of Air Expeditionary Force Coronet Oak, operated by the 35th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron.
