302nd Operations Group sees change during August training weekend
Col. Kurt D. Jones (left) passes the 302nd Operations Support Squadron guidon to Lt. Col. Jennie Johnson during an assumption of command ceremony Aug. 8 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Colonel Johnson, an Air Force Reservist, assumed command of the unit directly after the squadron's standup ceremony. Before becoming a squadron, the organization was an operations support flight. After the ceremony, Colonel Johnson addressed the audience including 302nd OSS members: "To the men and women of the 302nd OSS: Commanders come and go, but you are the heart of the unit." Colonel Johnson is a senior C-130 Hercules navigator with more than 1,400 flying hours. Colonel Jones, an Air Reserve Technician, is the commander of the 302nd Operations Group, the parent organization to the 302nd OSS. (U.S. Air Force photo/Larry Hulst)
