Denver students learn about aeronautics with AF Reserve wing

1st Lt. Gordon Hodgkins looks on at Dillon Beard as he learns about the navigator position on an Air Force Reserve C-130 Oct. 8 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Mr. Beard, a high school junior from the Cherry Creek School District in Greenwood Village, Colo., joined approximately 35 other students who are enrolled in the district's aviation program for a tour of the AF Reserve's 302nd Airlift Wing and one of the unit's C-130 Hercules aircraft. The tour also incorporated an in-depth briefing on the wing and its aerial firefighting mission. Lieutenant Hodgkins is a C-130 Hercules pilot assigned to the 52nd Airlift Squadron, an Active Duty Air Force unit associated with the 302nd AW. (U.S. Air Force photo illustration/Staff Sgt.
