302nd AW honors Southern Colorado fallen servicemembers in Cripple Creek
Army Col. (ret.) Bill McPherson salutes the Pikes Peak Region Memorial Wall during the Aug. 22 dedication ceremony in Cripple Creek, Colo. after reading the names of the newly-added Southern Colorado servicemembers who have been killed in action. Members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been killed in action since Sept. 11, 2001 and were stationed at one of the local five area installations, had a home of record in El Paso or Teller County or were U.S. Air Force Academy graduates are listed on the wall. From June 2009 to May 2010, 54 servicemembers gave their lives in combat and were added to the wall. The memorial wall, which now has a total of 331 names displayed, is located at Cripple Creek's Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ann Skarban)
