Northern California community leaders receive 'Colorado' welcome
Chief Master Sgt. Joseph Westerlund (foreground) and an official party from the 302nd Airlift Wing and 21st Space Wing welcome civic leaders from Beale Air Force Base, Calif., Oct. 14 during a joint 940th Wing/9th Reconnaissance Wing Community Relations Tour to Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. From Oct. 14-15, the civic leaders, who are residents throughout Yuba County, Calif., were briefed on several missions, including the Air Force Reserve's 302nd Airlift Wing tactical airlift and airdrop and Modular Airborne Firefighting System aerial firefighting missions. The civic leaders also visited U.S. Northern Command, Air Force Space Command and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Air Force-sponsored Community Relations Tours allow community and civic leaders to gain a better perspective on how the Air Force Reserve and its Active Duty counterparts work together.
