Northern California community leaders receive 'Colorado' welcome
Col. Courtney Arnold (right) shakes the hand of Brig. Gen. Paul McGillicuddy, 9th Reconnaissance Wing commander, upon his arrival Oct. 14 to Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. The general escorted 24 civic leaders from the Yuba County, Calif., area to take part in a joint 940th Wing/9th RW Community Relations Tour to the Colorado Springs area. From Oct. 14-15, the civic leaders were briefed on several missions, including the Air Force Reserve's 302nd Airlift Wing tactical airlift and airdrop and Modular Airborne Firefighting System aerial firefighting missions. The civic leaders also visited U.S. Northern Command, Air Force Space Command and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Air Force-sponsored Community Relations Tours allow community and civic leaders to gain a better perspective on how the Air Force Reserve and its Active Duty counterparts work together.
