Brazilian AF visits MAFFS II
With his hands in the air, 302nd Airlift Wing Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System qualified C-130 loadmaster Master Sgt. Jason Harvey explains the upload procedure of the U.S. Forest Service MAFFS II unit to the visiting MAFFS C-130 aircrew from the Brazilian Air Force. Four MAFFS C-130 aircrew members of the Brazilian Air Force’s 1st Group Troop Transport visited the Air Force Reserve Command’s 302nd AW at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., Nov. 15, 2012 to learn more about the 302nd AW’s MAFFS program and more specifically, the Air Force Reserve unit’s conversion from the MAFFS legacy system to the MAFFS II system. The five-day visit included classroom instruction, open dialogue between the two countries’ MAFFS subject matter experts and hands-on tours of the U.S. Forest Service MAFFS II units. The Brazilian Air Force plans to transition to the MAFFS II system in the near future. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ann Skarban)
