Black Forest Fire
A firefighter from the 721st Civil Engineer Squadron fire department at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station prepares to fight the raging fires in the Black Forest region of Colorado Springs June 12. Fire fighters and other emergency service personnel have worked tirelessly around the clock to extinguish the fire that began June 11. The 21st Space Wing and 721st Mission Support Group is providing two fire trucks and 13 firefighters in response to requests under a mutual aid agreement with El Paso County Sheriff’s Department, as well as providing shelter for DOD personnel displaced by the fire.
