MAFFS 6 arrives PAFB
California Air National Guard's 'MAFFS 6' arrives Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. June 23. The MAFFS capability increased from two to four C-130s with the arrival of MAFFS 4 and 6 from the 146th Airlift Wing. The U.S. Forest Service, through the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho requested the activation of two additional Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System-equipped military C-130 aircraft to assist in battling wildland fires.
