Lt. Col. Anderson retires
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - Lt. Col. John Anderson, 302nd Civil Engineer Squadron commander (right), was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal during his retirement ceremony July 17, 2016 here. Anderson retired after 22 years of service, 13 of which were spent as part of the 302nd CES. Under his command, the 302nd CES participated in five deployed-for-training operations, and set the Air Force benchmark for Total Force Integration combining the Air Reserve Component with the 21st CE Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight. Lt. Col. Samuel Brown (left), 302nd Mission Support Group deputy commander, presided over the ceremony and said, "Lt. Col. John Anderson embodies the purpose of leadership. That purpose is to care and to serve." Anderson offered his thanks to the squadron, "It was an honor and a privilege to serve with each and every one of you. To your families, pass on my gratitude."
