The 302nd Airlift Wing recently announced six Airmen will be promoted Oct. 1, 2016, through the Air Force Reserve Stripes for Exceptional Performers II program.

Joe Rorick, 302nd Operations Support Squadron, was promoted to the rank of chief master sergeant. Sherri Libby, 302nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, and Benjamin Reich, 302nd Maintenance Squadron, were promoted to the rank of master sergeant. Sandy Riley, 302nd MXS, Valentin Rojas, 302nd Communication Flight, and Ashley Solum, Operations Support Squadron, were promoted to the rank of technical sergeant.

The purpose of the program is to promote outstanding and well-deserving individuals based on their ability to serve in the next higher grade. The next STEP II cycle starts in the spring of 2017.

“The STEP II program is a career development tool we have to use when an outstanding performer is blocked [reaching the highest rank for their individual billet or position assigned] for promotion in their current position.  The program allows the wing to submit those members and compete for their next stripe.  It is an incredible opportunity for our amazing Airmen.  We have done very well with our submissions the last few years and we look forward to more packages this spring and future successful promotions of our members,” said Chief Master Sgt. Vicki Robertson, 302nd Airlift Wing command chief.
