Chiefs change responsibility in time-honored tradition
Air Force Reserve Chief Master Sgt. Joseph Westerlund (right) salutes Col. Jay Pittman, 302nd Airlift Wing commander, as his last official command chief duty Nov. 7 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Once the salute is completed, Chief Westerlund will submit to the colonel the symbolic command chief stripes as they are passed to the incoming command chief, Chief Master Sgt. Suzette Cherry. Both chiefs observed the tradition of the change in responsibility of the wing's command chief, in which Chief Westerlund relinquished the position to Chief Cherry. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
