Colonel Matthew K. Heintzelman

Col. Matthew Heintzelman is the Commander, 302d Mission Support Group, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. He is responsible for day-to-day management of a group consisting of 450 reserve members across the force support, aerial port, logistics readiness, security forces, civil engineering and communications career fields.

Col. Heintzelman initially entered the Air Force on active duty in 1989 and earned his commission in 2000 through Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He has deployed twice as the J-1 during Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM and three additional deployments supporting the Air Force Special Operations Command in various locations. He has served in a variety of leadership roles at the squadron, group, wing and headquarters levels including executive officer to the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, Balad Air Base, Afghanistan.

Prior to his current position, the colonel was the Chief, Logistics Readiness Division, HQ AFRC/A4R, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
